One-of-a-Kind Journey
Made in Italy during the 1920's - 30's, this bangle has a delicate silhouette with a quality yet light weight feel. Textural looking with ornate design elements that wrap around the entire piece for a seamless look. The detailed silver setting is accented with faceted purple glass that is open at the back and made to mimic sparkling amethyst. Detailed and eye-catching, this bangle will have a graceful look singly but would be lovely combined with other bangles in your collection.

Guide
On Art Deco
Art Deco is one of the first truly international styles, that influenced the design of buildings, furniture, fashion and of course, jewelry. The movement was given a name from the international exposition of Arts D
é
coratifs et Industriels Modernes, that was held in Paris in 1925 and largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Born out of ideas of modernism and the Industrial Age, this manifested into designs that used Cubism’s bold abstraction and rectilinear shapes and combined them with intricate patterning, bold color and symmetry. High-end jewelry design houses like Cartier and Boucheron set the trends in gold and gemstones, which were then emulated by costume jewelry companies in glass or perhaps plastics, and brought to the masses.
On Regional Jewelry
Throughout history, regions have developed their own distinctive styles of jewelry with techniques that are passed down through generations. Because each region shared the same techniques, materials, knowledge, and craftspeople, the style of each region becomes incredibly recognizable, almost like a designer. However, regional jewelry is made by different artisans, so each piece feels subtly different. For example, Austro-Hungarian jewelry is a recognizable category of jewelry, known by its style, motifs, construction, and materials. Collectors can favor regional jewelry for the clear history and distinct location that can be assigned to the peace.
