ABINGDON POTTERY (ABINGDON IL 1934-50) SQUARE DESSERT DISH # 337

Description

The Abingdon Pottery Square Dessert Dish Shape #337 was made only in 1935 as one of 6 shapes they designed specifically as dinnerware.  Since the production was very limited, any of these pieces are hard to find & especially hard to find in good condition.  This one is in an early glossy yellow glaze.  This square dish is 5 inches in diameter & about 1-1/2 inches tall from the base of the foot to the top rim.
It has no inkstamp on the bottom, but some of these earliest pieces had an inkstamp that washed off or it may have originally had an Abingdon sticker.  The bottom has the very distinctive Abingdon white clay rim.  It is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, hairlines, or crazing.  Ships USPS.
