ABINGDON POTTERY (ABINGDON IL 1934-50) DELTA VASE # 108

Description

The Abingdon Pottery Delta Vase #108 was made in 1938 & 1939.  The shape was made in 3 sizes - 10 inch, 8 inch, & 6 inch.  The #108 is the middle size.
This piece with a classic art deco look has great mold definition in every detail of the vase - the ribbed base, the banded body, & the beaded handles.  It has the rich light maroon glaze that Abingdon called Sudan Red that was offered in their 1939-40 catalogs.  It is 8-1/4 inches tall & 5 inches wide at the handles, with a top rim about 3-1/4 inches in diameter, & a bottom rim about 3-1/2 inches in diameter.  It has the Abingdon in a rectangle stamped mark with the impressed shape number 108 on the bottom.
It is a heavy piece, suitable for holding a large floral arrangement, & in excellent vintage condition - no chips or hairlines or crazing.
