Description
This auction is for a pair of Vintage Abingdon Pottery planters. Authentic Abingdon Pottery is evidenced by the high quality of the clay; heavy, dense, white, vitreous china- finished with great attention to quality and detail. The planters were made from 1934 to 1950. They show a guy leaning against a cactus plant taking a nap. They are really cute. They make great bookends. The planters measure approximately 6-1/2" tall, 7-1/4" long, and 4" wide. They weigh just over 2 pounds each. They are marked on the bottom "Abingdon U.S.A." in a blue rectangle, the number "616" and an incised "H".
I found one chip on the toe of one of the guys. It could be repaired. The inside of the pots are worn. they were used as planters. I cleaned off as much dirt as I could. This is an "As-Is" auction so please see all photos and feel free to ask questions.
