    Description

    1827 O.145 R5 Square based 2 Capped Bust half dollar, PCGS XF45.  A rare variety from the King of Years for Overton variety collectors.  One only needs 49 different varieties to complete the year, which includes one R7+, two R6's and numerous R5's!  Believe it or not, there are a total of three collectors who have ever accomplished that feat, which is something to be truly proud of.  This coin is beautifully toned in antique golden gray, and while the surfaces are just a bit dull underneath, there are no serious marks or other distractions, and there is life and luster in the protected areas.  In 35 years of hunting for Overton varieties, we've cherrypicked a total of 4 of these...but none as nice as this one.  Good luck!
